Lean Accounting Trip to Japan

Lean pioneer, Norman Bodek is working to solidify the itinerary listed below and making plans for his trip in April. Bodek will take a limited team of 20 executives on a trip that focuses on Lean Accounting principles and practices.

The trip will visit numerous plants where participants see first-hand what lean looks like when fully applied throughout the enterprise. In addition to plant tours, workshops will be held with several former Toyota executives. They will share their experiences with how the accounting function interacts with lean operations.

Bodek assures that new thinking will be discovered as few Westerners have heard of many of the concepts that will be covered, like the "J Cost" theory which provides a tool for measuring the true impact of lean. Or the “technology strategy map” which is used to attain world class status, internationally competitive, in categories, such as: Autonomous maintenance, defect countermeasures, JIT, automation, technology transfer, equipment management, set-up improvement, morale, cost, safety, delivery, movement management, small group activities, and more.

Reservations have started to come in and will likely increase in December and January. If you are interested in this trip, please contact Dwayne Butcher and let him know of your interest. He'll keep you updated on the number of available spots.

Bodek has made available a PDF brochure suitable for printing. DOWNLOAD the printable brochure. Learn more about this trip on the Lean Accounting Summit site.
