Benchmarking Goes On Despite Tough Times

During tough economic times, businesses have less money for onsite benchmarking visits, but that does not mean learning through benchmarking needs to end. The Association for Manufacturing Excellence and APQC are continuing to build a Benchmarking Community of Practice to further organizational process improvement. The community is administered largely online, with members asking for — and receiving — immediate responses to questions they pose about benchmarking. The community is international and includes representatives from a wide range of industries.

Members follow a formal query process, and the group regularly hosts online Webinars for benchmarking as well as in-person meetings at major conferences. For more information, go to either group’s Web site.
