Koenigsaecker Joins Bodek in Keynoting
Lean Accounting Summit

Lean pioneer George Koenigsaecker, executive vice president at Simpler Consulting, will be keynote speaker at this fall’s Lean Accounting Summit in Orlando. Koenigsaecker is author of the book Leading the Lean Enterprise Transformation (Productivity Press, 2009) and is known for his lean accomplishments at The Danaher Corp. and The Hon Company.

“It’s a great honor to have someone of George’s stature address the Summit,” said founder Jim Huntzinger. “He is one of the original pioneers in North America’s lean movement and has proven his ability to lead successful lean organizations.”

Koenigsaecker joins another lean pioneer and previously announced keynote presenter, Norm Bodek, president of PCS Press.

“When you look at the influence these two gentlemen have had on the world of lean, we’re in for a real treat to hear directly from them both,” Huntzinger said.

The Summit is Sept. 22-23 at Walt Disney World’s Contemporary Resort. Typically, 300 to 600 top-level executives attend the summit.

New to the Summit this year are several companies and topics. For the first time, a presentation of lean accounting in healthcare will be offered. Two pioneering companies will be represented in Koenigsaecker's former company Jake Brake and Jean Cunningham's former company Lantech. Both companies were highlighted in Lean Thinking. A session titled "Pricing and Quoting the Lean Accounting Way" will be delivered by Watlow representatives. And Boeing executives will present a session titled "Working Capital Management in Recessionary Times."

Huntzinger explains, "This agenda provides something fresh and relevant as attendees seek new ways of thinking, especially in this current economic climate. We designed it with ROI in mind, so that companies can justify the expense of attending. My favorite quote from someone who has attended every Summit is, 'My team learns something new every year that boosts our lean efforts. We wouldn't return if we didn't GET a return.'"
